Description

The facility is designed to compress and dehydrate sweet natural gas gathered from wells in the area. Equipment will include one 1400hp compressor, driven by a natural gas fueled engine. There likely will be a future 720hp unit installed within one year. Engine exhausts will be equipped with hospital rated silencers. The motors and the compressors will be installed in fully enclosed buildings. As part of the compression process, the gas is cooled in forced draft coolers attached on the outside of the compressor buildings and will be orientated facing north. This will minimize possible noise disturbance from the fans.

The dehydration process is designed to simply remove water vapour from the gas. Glycol is contacted with the gas and absorbs excess water vapour. Water absorbed in the glycol is boiled off and the glycol recirculated. This is a very simple, common process with virtually no noise emissions and the only atmospheric emissions being water vapour and some carbon dioxide. The glycol reboiler and a glycol heater used for building heat use sweet natural gas for fuel in firetube burners.

In summary, this facility will normally have no emissions other than exhaust from the natural gas fueled engines, water vapour from the dehydrator and CO2 from the process boiler. In an emergency condition, the gas is safely vented at the top of a stack for short periods. The emissions being sweet natural gas and water vapour. This facility will meet or exceed all government regulations for design, emission and safety.
