The Upetrom F400 (often designated as the F400 DEC or F400-1800HP) is a heavy-duty, conventional land-based oil and gas drilling rig manufactured by the Romanian industrial company Upetrom-1 Mai (Ploiești).
Key Technical Specifications
• Hook Load Capacity: 400 tonnes (approx. 440 short tons / rated static capacity)
• Recommended Drilling Depth: 5,000 to 7,000 meters (approx. 16,400 to 23,000 feet) depending on drill pipe configuration (5-1/2" or 4-1/2" drill pipe).
• Power & Engines: Typically driven by diesel-electric configurations or heavy-duty multi-engine setups (such as Electroputere Craiova generators/engines).
